![]() Who is UNIARM ? UNIARM is short for United Amateur Radio Malaysia, a non profit on-line forum and portal initiated by a few Malaysian amateur radio members. Our members are from many HAM clubs and societies. UNIARM is not a registered organisation such as society or club. It is only a forum / portal for HAM enthusiast can meet and discuss freely without fear or favour. It is also a place where HAM with common interest can talk about and share their interest and report their activities. Amateur Radio is also known as HAM world wide. Why UNIARM ? Our aim is to unite all Amateur Radio (AR) members and enthusiasts in Malaysia, regardless of which club or society they belong to. Our focus is to educate, promote AR code of ethics, and prepare us for emergency communication (emcomm) for times of natural disaster. This is intended to be a neutral, impartial and objective forum. We want to promote Amateur radio to the local community and Malaysian AR to the international HAM community. The forum is recommended to be in english so that both local and foreign HAM members can participate and share information especially in technical development and emergency communication. What do we do ? In this portal we will engage HAM members through announcements, articles, discussions and events on a number of HAM related matters such as: * HAM member activities * * Basic AR educational information * * Assist SWL for RAE * * Recommend Standardise SOP * * Sharing of technical information * * Emergency Communication- Emcomm * * Community service to give back to society * The main focus activity still remains developing emergency communication and community services. We hope to publish articles on emcomm and create awareness that HAM can be part of the emcomm team. We can work together towards a common emcomm system and be a volunteer to assist any active HAM emcomm society or club in time of emergency. Let us learn from experience HAM involved in EMCOMM during disaster so that we can be trained to relay and manage vital information. We have to be prepared in order to volunteer as an EMCOMM unit and be of service to the community. HAM emcomm is not a rescue service we are in communication only for emergency, disaster and rescue operation. We all want to help but if you are not trained it can be disastrous. EMCOMM team must also be invited by the local government agencies in order to provided communication support. If you wish to be part of the emcomm team focus on what we are good at our communication equipment and technical expertise for efficient communication and learn about relaying and managing information. Learn, train and prepare before disaster strikes not when it strikes. Join any establish emcomm teams in your local area. Don’t ask what emcomm can do for you but what you can do for amateur radio emcomm! ![]() The Amateur Family AR is meant to be an engaging hobby, and as such lets make this portal informative, enjoyable and fun. If you feel that you have the same objectives in mind, please do join and contact us in promoting AR unity. We support all clubs and society. Having said that do join the local radio club. Find the most active club in your area. There are many in Malaysia such as Mares, Astra, Borneo Amateur Radio Club, Peramah, Segamat Ham Club, Jasra and many others listed on UNIARM website. Promote amateur radio on a local basis and allow your voice to be heard. Volunteer where you can contribute your time, energy and expertise.
